Fall TV is in full force, and while I’m definitely having trouble keeping up, I’m loving it!
I have a few first impressions to share, but spoiler alert: I like most of them.
Kevin Can Wait
I never watched The King of Queens, so I can’t compare the two, but so far, Kevin Can Wait is a cute little sitcom. I don’t hate it.
The Good Place
I initially chose to watch this because of Kristen Bell (who doesn’t love her??) and she has not disappointed me. The premise of this series is a little strange, but I think it’s worth it.
The pilot episode couldn’t keep my attention well, but by the second episode, I was very interested. This show will make you think. He doesn’t really seem anything like Dr. Phil, though.
This Is Us
Everyone is talking about this show, and for good reason: it’s a tear-jerker. It’s no replacement for Parenthood, but it’s pretty freaking close.
Can we all just take a moment to thank Donald Glover for this?
Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes for this show. But it fits well into ABC’s comedy block, and it’s fun to watch.
Jack Bauer for president! Kiefer Sutherland is doing as good a job as ever at being intense in this drama.
I don’t like sportsball at all, but this is a good drama. The dynamics of a female playing in major league baseball are interesting… And Zach Morris is in this show, too. Isn’t that enough?
I was a little nervous, because this is a Thursday night ABC show not created by Shonda Rimes, but Notorious fits in well with Grey’s and HTGAWM. It reminds me of Scandal, but on the other side.
Sorry, I couldn’t keep my attention on this one. The genre isn’t the typical kind of show I’d like. Friday night shows usually don’t do too well, so I wouldn’t count on it being renewed.
Another Friday night show that didn’t keep my interest as much as I was hoping it would. I think I’d rather re-watch the movie.
Yes, you should absolutely add this show to your list. It’s a relatable comedy about a single mom. Those are always great. Pamela Aldon does great in this, and she should — it’s somewhat based on her life.
While I was fairly impressed with the pilot (which is almost exactly like the movie), only time will tell if they can drag out this story long enough for an entire season.
I loved the pilot episode! Time travel isn’t always entertaining (or is it?) and while this is a classic plot, it still managed to hold my attention. It does have that one guy from 90210 and that girl from One Tree Hill, so I sometimes think I’m watching The CW.
What new shows have you been loving this Fall?
