Recap & What I Loved in April 2019

I didn’t blog as much as I wanted to in April. I had plans of writing more for NIAW, and this post is a little delayed. But the freedom to just not do it was great. I felt a little overwhelmed and couldn’t put the words together like I wanted to. So I just… didn’t! This post is even a bit “late”, but it’s fine!

The month started off with Spring Break, which I wasn’t looking forward to, but went much better than I expected, especially screen-free. We also had a few birthday parties to go to, and all three of us battled multiple colds. Tim and I have plans to start making nutrient-dense smoothies again to avoid getting sick the rest of the year.

Of course, Easter happened. Charlotte had a party and egg hunt at school, and they had to find the eggs with their names on them. “C for Charlotte!” We went to my brother’s house on Easter Sunday and Charlotte found many, many more eggs, chased a billion bubbles, and ate way too much sugar.

Things I’m Loving

This observation journal. In March, I watched a few vidoes from the I Am Mom Summit. One of them talked about focusing on the things we love about our daily lives with our kids. She suggested writing down the small things at the end of the day. The small memories that we won’t remember in detail, but that can bring so much joy. I know at the end of the day, I love recapping the funny things Charlotte said or did, and it puts me in a great mood. So I decided to get a journal just for that.

Face Halo. I have been looking into what I can do to produce less waste without totally inconveniencing myself (or spending a fortune on reusable snack bags). And I noticed that I use SO MANY cotton rounds! I like to remove my makeup first, so I would often use a cotton round with micellar water. I was going through 4-6 per day. Now I use a Face Halo to remove my makeup, wash my face, and use one cotton round for toner.

tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette. I spotted this last year, and then it disappeared off the shelves. It looked like it was going to be out of stock forever. But I finally got my hands on it! It’s a neutral, cool-toned, all matte palette, and I LOVE it.

Face Halo looks cool!! I’ve been looking for a new palette and that just might be the winner.

They’re worth it!!! The original is better than the pro, imo.
