June & July 2019 Recap

At the beginning of the summer, I wondered what we were going to do with all this time. Joke’s on me!

I signed Charlotte up for a speech group day camp, which gave me a few hours to run errands and get some things done. Thank goodness for that camp! She loved it and it was right next to Target!

We also booked a long weekend trip in Hilton Head in June, because I felt like we needed something to break up the summer. It was a nice, lazy trip (for me, anyway). Charlotte still loved the beach, and I read an entire book.

Around the house, we had to replace our (two year old) washing machine, which was annoying. Always get a warranty on a washing machine or dishwasher, y’all. We also finally finished and screened in our back porch! We added a ceiling fan and a doggy door (so letting Twilight out is still easy) and now it’s one of my favorite places to relax. Fresh air without the bugs!

Charlotte turned THREE. We had friends and family over to play out in the backyard and grilled out. The kids played HARD. The cake was delicious (Publix, of course).

I, along with a lot of the USA, watched Hannah choose the wrong guy on The Bachelorette. I have to say I did not enjoy the majority of the season, but I did like how she reacted to Luke P. in the final episodes. I’m looking forward to Bachelor in Paradise! I also started watching Big Brother for the third year in a row, and this is likely the worst cast that’s ever been on the show.

And now we are just two short weeks away from the beginning of Charlotte’s school year! Time flies and the summers are short.

Is summer over for you yet?

we watched an episode of the simpsons last night where they get a pool and bart breaks his leg & misses the summer fun, then Homer says “just wait until you’re a grown up, you miss every summer!” and I felt that down in my soul. I love love LOVE your back porch! It’s so cute. I also feel like having an outdoor ceiling fan is how you know you’ve really MADE it as an adult haha

RIGHT? The ceiling fan makes ALL the difference, too.

A trip to the beach is always welcomed, not AS relaxing with kids, but nice that you got to read a book- for sure! I am in LOVE with your porch area- so calming and much enjoyed I’m sure!

Haha no, not nearly as relaxing, but it’s easier to relax if there’s just one kid and dad takes over!!
